GAME CANCELLATIONS

GENERAL INFORMATION:

Year 1. Friday evening cricket.

  • This coaching session will be cancelled if the weather is too bad to play.

    Parents will be advised by email on the afternoon in question.

Years 2-4 Cancellations.

  • Cancellation notices will be posted on the Grafton, Parnell and University websites by 2.30 pm on the Friday for Friday evening games, & by 7.00pm on Friday night for Saturday morning games. Teams will also be notified.

  • However if the weather improves somewhat after the club cancellation has been made, team coaches are welcome to make contact with opposing teams to make the call to proceed or not. The link to the other EDCA club contacts will be posted post-Christmas..

  • Also teams will be notified via email.

  • Note that Auckland Cricket is NOT responsible for cancellations for these Grades.

  • Note also that if there is no mention of your game being cancelled then it is on. However, during play, should the weather deteriorate to such an extent that the wicket becomes dangerous or otherwise unplayable, then, by mutual consent with the opposition team, the game should be abandoned.

U10 grades and above, including all Girls grades.

  • Auckland Cricket are responsible for the cancellation, including ground changes, for all grades from U10 and above, including all Girls/Women’s grades.

  • Cancellations or ground transfers for these grades will be placed on the Auckland Cricket website from 7.15 am on the day in question. (Afternoon cricket cancellations or ground transfers will be advised by 10.30 am).

  • Teams playing midweek matches will be notified by 3.30 pm on the day in question if their match will be cancelled.

  • Note if there is no mention of your game being cancelled then it is on. However should the weather deteriorate to such an extent during play that the wicket becomes dangerous or otherwise unplayable, then, by mutual consent with the opposition team, the game should be abandoned.

PRACTICE CANCELLATIONS:

  • Generally individual team practices will not be cancelled by the Club. In case of bad weather it is up to each team coach/manager to decide whether to proceed with their practice or not. Team members should contact their coaches if in doubt.

  • Cancellations of scheduled professional coaching sessions taken by the Club’s professional coaches (Year 4 & up) will be decided as late as possible on the day. Teams will be advised.
